The problem

The client runs a large insurance sales operation spread across 120 locations, with thousands of distributors selling products from major German and Austrian banks. The volume kept growing, but the tools did not keep pace. Agents passed sensitive contract documents back and forth by hand, which slowed every deal and made communication between sales teams and banks a daily bottleneck. On top of that, each bank set its own strict security policy and tight deadlines, so any new platform had to meet financial-grade compliance from the first day or it would not be allowed to connect.

The solution

Life Value built a secure sales portal sized for large insurance operations. Agents work in one system to manage customers, build proposals, and send contracts straight into the banks that issue them. The platform was delivered as an iterative MVP, with close stakeholder collaboration at each step so it could meet every bank security review on schedule.

  • Direct bank integration: agents create contracts inside the systems of Generali, Uniqa, Allianz, WWK, and Baumann Partners, so data moves securely between the portal and each bank without manual handoffs.
  • Architecture built to scale: a Java and Spring Boot backend with Scala services, running on Docker and Kubernetes behind Traefik, supports thousands of concurrent users and makes room for new bank connections.
  • Secure document handling: sensitive files are processed and archived through a central OAuth server, with InSign for digital signing and MariaDB and TypeSense behind the search and storage layer.
  • Frontend modernization: the team moved legacy Thymeleaf views to Vue and PrimeVue, which gave agents a faster and clearer interface to work in all day.

What we built

The portal now runs the full sales cycle for the client across Germany and Austria. Agents open a customer, prepare a proposal, route documents for signing, and submit the contract to the right bank, all from the same place. Messaging between services is handled with RabbitMQ, errors are tracked with Sentry, and releases ship through GitLab CI/CD, so the team can keep adding banks and features without disrupting the people selling every day.

  • Wider market reach: one platform supports sales across Germany and Austria and is ready for new markets.
  • Less manual work: document handling and bank communication happen inside the system instead of by hand.
  • Room to grow: the architecture handles heavy traffic and accepts new banking integrations as the business expands.
  • Security and compliance: sensitive customer data stays protected under each bank's rules.

It integrates with major German and Austrian banks, including Generali, Uniqa, Allianz, WWK, and Baumann Partners, so agents can create contracts directly inside each bank's system.

How does it handle bank security requirements?

Documents flow through a central OAuth server and digital signing, and each release passes the security reviews that the banks require before a connection goes live.

Can it support more banks and markets later?

Yes. The platform was built to add new bank integrations and to expand beyond Germany and Austria as the client grows.

What technology is it built on?

A Java and Spring Boot backend with Scala services, a Vue and PrimeVue frontend, MariaDB, TypeSense, and RabbitMQ, all deployed with Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD.
